THE PROJECT
Protect a Woman
In this current COVID-19 crisis, Women's Community Shelters is experiencing a 25% increase in inquiries for safe accommodation for women and children who are homeless or escaping domestic violence. Existing services were already at full capacity, with more than 50% of women seeking shelter turned away due to a lack of beds.
Across Australia, around 56,000 women are homeless each night, many with young children. Now, there are many more. Women unable to access shelters are left vulnerable, disconnected from community and support networks.
Women’s Community Shelters is dedicated to providing women and children with a safe place to stay and an opportunity to rebuild their lives.

Save Mothers Lives
In Eastern Burma, 1 in 12 women are at risk of dying during pregnancy or when giving birth. 1 in 5 children will also die before the age of five. These are some of the highest rates in the world.
To prevent maternal and infant mortality, safe delivery and proper care in the early days of a child’s life is essential.
Mae Tao Clinic offers comprehensive care for pregnant women and babies through antenatal care check-ups, delivery with a trained midwife and treatment in case of emergencies, helping to save the lives of mothers and babies.

Prevent Women Dying
Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australia. 1 in 7 women will be diagnosed in their lifetime, and 8 Australian women lose their life every day.
The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) is Australia’s leading national body funding game-changing breast cancer research to create a better tomorrow for all those impacted.
Our mission is simple: stop deaths from breast cancer. How? By identifying, funding and championing world-class research - that helps us detect tumours earlier, improve treatment outcomes, and ultimately save lives. We receive no government funding. With your support, we can move closer to our goal: zero deaths from breast cancer by 2030.
